The initiative «For the one-time levy on assets» launched by the Social Democrats to reduce the debts incurred during the First World War was rejected in December 1922 with a «no» vote registering 87% (!) of the valid votes.
Charles Edouard Gogler’s red claw grasping a simple peasant leaves no room for interpretation (which wouldn’t be the point…). The only known poster by the draughtsman, sculptor and former director of the Saint-Imier School of Arts and Crafts.
