One of Martin Peikert’s many amusing and sparkling Swiss Original Vintage Travel Posters which make him one of the most popular and sought-after designers of Swiss tourism advertising among collectors in Switzerland and abroad. Here he is promoting the Montreux – Bernese Oberland Railway that links Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva and Gstaad in the Bernese Oberland.
Often wrongly dated 1946, what can’t be as the Klausfelder print shop didn’t have an offset press that early (or: there was an earlier edition of this design, printed as a lithograph – however, I haven’t ever seen such a copy); rare, in perfect condition
