Extremely rare original poster from the Art Deco era designed by Otto Ernst, the in-house graphic artist at the Trüb printing company, advertising radios from the Aarau manufacturer Maxim – here probably for the E20 model. The company, which originally specialized in thermo-electric appliances, was the first to build radios developed in Switzerland in the early 1920s, i. e. without foreign licenses.

The receivers – loudspeakers still had to be connected separately, as can be seen in the motif – were so solid and reliable that Maxim was the market leader in Switzerland until the mid-1920s; after that, however, the company had no chance against larger competitors such as Grundig or Philips and ceased production.
