Original Poster created by Henri Ott from three photographs, inspired by Herbert Matter’s pioneering work from the 1930s. Ott’s second photomontage for Swissair (in his first, he also focused on the Rockefeller Complex in the heart of New York – see below; in this case he adds the Brooklyn Bridge and the skyline), which the national airline used from 1953 or 1954 at the latest to advertise its night flights from Zurich and Geneva (including two stopovers in Ireland and Newfoundland) to the United States. French variant «Les Etats-Unis à une nuit de la Suisse».
