Lingerie – Department Store Vier Jahreszeiten

Original Poster designed in 1920 by Burkhard Mangold of Basel for the upscale Bern-based department store chain Magazine zu den Vier Jahreszeiten, which specialized in textiles; the poster promoted the store’s line of women’s lingerie with this interior scene, which was quite modern for its time and had a distinctly intimate feel. It is highly likely that passersby’s reactions varied widely.
