Original Poster from 1937, designed by Eugen Häfelfinger for the Swiss National Tourist Office, which used it in various text versions both at home and abroad – in this case in Germany and Austria (which, however, soon was also Germany) to attract trendy (and wealthy) guests.

The fact that, just two years after Herbert Matter’s groundbreaking, cool photomontage, the National Tourist Office opted for a much more cosy motif (which, as mentioned, was also used in Switzerland), despite the message being identical, is undoubtedly due to the changing mood, which soon went down in history as intellectual defence of the nation and in which the avant-garde had lost much of its appeal.
